This is just a quick update for friends, and so that I can keep track of all the stuff that’s happening myself. I’m a bit overwhelmed. I have so much gratitude for all of my musical friends who have believed in me and programmed my music. You guys are fabulous. Thank you so much!
The new Hebrew setting of Psalm 121 is being performed at the Nebraska Music Educators convention this weekend. I have also just learned that it will be performed in concerts in Seoul and several other cities in Korea as part of the World Choir Symposium by the University of Southern California. My clarinet and flute duo, “Three pieces in three styles” will be premiered at Clarinet Fest in Baton Rouge (the convention of the International Clarinet Society) this Summer by Amanda Morrison and her flute buddy in the PM Duo.
The Nebraska Music Teachers Association has commissioned me to write a cello sonata which will be premiered at their convention in October.
I have a commission from Chris Marks for an organ piece that will be premiered at the national convention of the Organ Historical Society.
I have a commission for the 25th anniversary of the Lied Center for the Performing Arts. This will be a choral work of about 15 minutes.
The Missouri Sonata for organ will be recorded by Wyatt Smith and released on the Raven label next year.
I have a commission for the Tampa Bay Children’s Chorus.
Deus Noster Refugium is being done at the Colorado Music Educators convention in January by Nathan Payant and the Bear Creek High School women’s chorus.
The Master Chorale of Tampa Bay just released best of Christmas album which includes my arrangement of “Go Tell it on the Mountain”
