On Sunday, the fabulous young organist, Wyatt Smith, premiered my new organ piece the “Missouri Sonata”. Wyatt is an amazing young organist, and if you don’t know about him yet, you will eventual learn about him. One of the amazing things about Wyatt is his positive, entrepreneurial spirit. He commissioned this piece from me to premiere on his senior recital at the University of South Dakota. Of course, when writing for someone else, I always write the most difficult music. Wyatt handles it like a champ despite the technical challenges. Let me know your thoughts. It will be available for purchase soon from my new Knecht Music International project.
Missouri Sonata for solo organ
II. River Nocturne
I would so love to be able to play this sonata, and especially would love to play the third movement! Wow. What a marvelous piece and, you're right, a fantastic performance! How happy you must all have been.
